Head of Year 7 & Primary Transition
We are seeking to appoint a well qualified and enthusiastic Head of Year 7 & Primary Transition.
At LRGS we have a strong culture of child-centred pastoral care, and dedicated staff committed to supporting young people. The wellbeing of children is very important to us, and we work hard to support pupils to thrive in an often complex and challenging world. The role of Head of Year 7 & Primary Transition is therefore an important one, central to much of what we aim to achieve as a school.
Our Head of Year 7 & Primary Transition will be a senior member of the school’s Pastoral Heads Team enabling them to influence school strategy and policy. They will work with other experienced members of the pastoral and safeguarding team.
We want our Head of Year 7 & Primary Transition to be a high-quality teacher. They will be able to build strong and positive relationships with young people in and out of the classroom, with a commitment to each child’s holistic development.
Relationships with our feeder Primary Schools are also very important to us, and we are proud of our primary outreach initiatives, especially InspirUS which has helped to stretch and inspire children from as young as Year 4 and 5. We are excited to plan our future work of primary engagement and outreach.
Our new Head of Year 7 & Primary Transition will also be joining the school at an exciting time of development as we make progress through the Priority School Building Programme which brings potential for considerable investment in our school’s accommodation.
You will find LRGS to be a thriving community of diverse and talented pupils, outstanding colleagues, and supportive parents and carers.
This role will be paid on MPS / UPS plus TLR 1b.
