Teacher of Classics (1 year Maternity cover)
We are seeking an outstanding and dynamic Teacher of Classics to cover maternity leave from September 2025 until August 2026, who is able to deliver an excellent standard of classroom teaching across all key stages including A Level. We would welcome applications from both full time and part time applicants.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated professional and would be suitable for an outstanding NQT or an experienced teacher. The successful applicant will be a dedicated classical scholar and an excellent classroom teacher who has a real love for the subject. They will be expected to teach Classics throughout the school including sixth form work at the highest level.
The Classics Department at LRGS is one of the best known and most successful of any school in the North of England and is one of the leading classics departments nationally in the maintained sector. The department has a strong academic tradition, and pupils who study Latin and Greek achieve outstanding examination results up to Oxbridge entrance level.
This role will be paid on the Main Pay Scale only.
