It is with sadness that we announce the death of former teacher, Noel Buller.
Noel was a much-loved teacher and member of the LRGS community. He was appointed by John Spencer in 1965 to teach technical drawing and Lower School Maths.
Upon his retirement in 1992, The Lancastrian reported that, “Noel is remembered by generations of OLs for his friendly, cheerful and painstaking approach. In many of their homes there will be proudly on display, unique meticulously crafted items created under his guidance and still giving pleasure. He is a perfectionist and expert in so many disciplines (as a visit to his self-built house immediately shows) and has a remarkable gift for communicating his skills, enthusiasm and knowledge to all around him.
During his time at LRGS he played cricket for the Staff team quickly showing Doug Cameron his attributes as a left arm swing bowler, and also helping Clive Horsford with mountain walking groups and YHA.”
Noel’s funeral will be held at St Margaret's Church, Hornby on Monday 11th February at 2pm, preceded by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, his family ask that donations be made to Cancer Care Lancaster.
