Sixth Form Open Evening

Thursday 26 September 2024
5.45pm-7pm

Parents and prospective students are welcome to come and experience what makes Lancaster Royal Grammar School Sixth Form such a unique, supportive and vibrant place to learn, both in and out of the classroom.

LRGS is consistently placed amongst the top state schools in the country. In 2023, A-level students achieved top A and A* grades in more than 48% of all the exams that they sat.

Ofsted reported: "Sixth-form students achieve exceptionally well" and awarded the category for Sixth Form as 'Outstanding'.

The Open Evening will provide visitors with an opportunity to visit the refurbished Sixth Form Centre, look around the school classrooms and meet the teachers and current students. There are 24 A-level courses to choose from and there will be plenty of people around to offer advice on subject combinations and future implications. Sixth Form guides will be on hand for you to quiz as you move around the school.

For families new to the school, please come to the Grab and Go first to meet a Tour Guide. The Grab and Go can be found on the school map here (number 30 - enter via the 'hole in the wall').

There will be scheduled talks from Mr Allen Martin, Head of Sixth Form, Headmaster, Dr Pyle and some current Sixth Form pupils in the Assembly Hall.

Please come along and find out more about the outstanding boarding opportunities, bursaries, the Extended Project Qualification and the extracurricular activities that are on offer.

Current LRGS Year 11 pupils are urged to attend at 5pm and go straight to the classrooms for the subjects they are interested in. Further information will be sent to students and parents directly via email.

If you would like to apply for a place in LRGS Sixth Form in September 2025, please read the information on the Sixth Form Admissions page.
