How to find us
LRGS is situated in the historic city of Lancaster in North Lancashire, close to the Lake District. It is within easy reach of the M6 motorway (15 minutes) and close to major rail and air links. All visitors should report to the main reception in City View (no. 30 on the School Map).
By road
From the south, leave the M6 at junction 33. Travel 3.5 miles along the A6 north towards Lancaster, to the next roundabout. Take the second exit and pass the hospital on your left. Enter the one-way system, keeping in the right hand lane. At the next pedestrian crossing, turn right. Go straight on through two sets of traffic lights, passing the cathedral on your right. Carry on up the hill and over the crossroads and the school entrance (City View) is approximately 500 yards further up the hill, on your right.
From the north, leave the M6 at junction 34. Turn on to the A683 and travel towards Lancaster for 1.5 miles, joining the one-way system at the traffic lights. Stay in the left hand lane and continue for approximately half a mile. At Dalton Square, turn left (signposted Clitheroe), go through the traffic lights and up the hill, passing the cathedral on your right. Carry on up the hill and over the crossroads and the school entrance (City View) is approximately 500 yards further up the hill, on your right.
By train
Lancaster is on the west coast mainline train route between London and Glasgow (approximately 2.5 hours from both). There is a frequent train service. Lancaster train station is a 1mile taxi journey from the school.
By air
Manchester and Liverpool International Airports are approximately 1-1.5 hours from LRGS by car or rail. There is a direct train from Lancaster into Manchester Airport.
